ABOUT
Working in a small business or being a small business owner can be challenging. Long hours, navigating government regulations, financial pressures, and juggling multiple roles often push caring for our wellbeing down the priority list.
Recently, there has been a focus on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. Employers are responsible for ensuring the safety of their workers, which includes supporting mental health and wellbeing. Governments are also addressing “psychosocial hazards” that can harm mental health. We know that taking care of your mental health and wellbeing can lead to better health, ability to manage stress, improved relationships and greater output, productivity and job satisfaction. But many of the options aiming to help businesses develop a culture of wellbeing – including ours – are difficult for smaller businesses to access. Small businesses may not have the time, resources, or financial capacity, to invest in solutions to support their wellbeing and may therefore miss out.
To help solve this problem, South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business has awarded Be Well Co and our partner organisation Gallagher Bassett, a grant to provide small and family business and sole traders throughout South Australia free access to our leading workplace wellbeing training offerings. This enables us to empower small businesses to take steps to support their wellbeing and help their business thrive.
